I am a six-time Emmy Award winning producer based in Chicago with extensive experience producing breaking news and feature stories. I have spent my career in the field, edit room and control room offering in-depth coverage of politics, economics and racial inequality. Most recently I've been producing breaking news for NBC’s streaming platform NBC News Now. From 2012 to 2020 I was a producer in the NBC News Midwest bureau where I pitched, booked, wrote and produced stories for NBC Nightly News, Today and MSNBC, including live coverage from the riots in Ferguson and protests against police violence across the country. I have been recognized with an Emmy for my work with Trymaine Lee on a series about the trauma of gun violence in Chicago for MSNBC's "All in with Chris Hayes." Prior to returning to my hometown, I produced for NBC Nightly News in New York and led the broadcast’s coverage of the 2008 financial crisis and recession that followed. I started my career as a production coordinator for NBC News Specials Unit, and spent six years at "The News with Brian Williams" on MSNBC where I got my start as a producer with one of the best teams in the business.
